Update:
I changed a few things up, as per request of the commissioner...looks better too XD. Got rid of the kilt and is now just a loincloth, got rid of the headband, and revised the branches to make them look more like they're actually growing from him.
I also recieved some crit on the legs, so redid those as well..I'm much happier with the new ones :D

Commission for :iconsouless-omen:
This was very interesting (and flattering) commission to get. It's actually based off of one of my existing original concepts. My "NativeMoon" series was submitted a while ago, and Souless-Omen actually liked the concept of this particular image: [link] that he got a tattoo of it. AND THEN he hired me to design a male counterpart to that same image, so that it could go on his other arm as an opposite tattoo. Now how flattering is that?
I'm quite happy with how this turned out. I think I captured the exotic yet masculine look I was going for....... My only regret is that I inked it digitally and not traditionally.......it doesn't have the organic raw-ness to the the lines that the other one has.....I don't know that either method is better, but to me it means that the female version doesn't match perfectly with the male XD.
MMMm this makes me want to draw more NativeMoon stuff haha

NativeMoon? Sounds interesting. Is he an alien then?

Alien? Lol nope... "NativeMoon" is just the title I used to describe some print-style pictures I did up a while ago... it was a series of native-canadian (haida) art inspired pinups. You can find them in my gallery...
This pic was commissioned by someone who liked the female works, and wanted a male version. :)

He's bringing sexy back in those those scantily-clad undergarments.

Yeah, the blue was added as a contrast to the female NativeMoon girls red accents. I'd like to draw them next to each other now because I think that was a fun idea (it was the clients idea, not mine lol)

Love love his upper half and the sharp lines of his face and the branch. The markings on his chest are sexy as hell.
I think the thing holding the piece back would be his legs though. They are a bit short (his hands at his knee XD) and the thickness of his knee's takes away from how angular the rest of the pic is. I've been noticing that you've been drawing men with the same lower leg position in your last manly works. It seems like if the perspective were to be stronger and the leg put at an angle to work with that perspective it would be a more powerful pose. But the way its been executed ends up making the form seem awkward and unbalanced in his stance. [link] [link] [link] [link] The native moon guy I feel is being hurt the most though. His back (right) leg seems double jointed with the legs at different perspectives, even though he's front facing. A few tweaks would make this work as strong and fantastic as the female counterparts.

Simplicity always works. For some (un)surprising reason, I love it. : )

Holy crap. Is he going to send you pictures of the finished work? YOU GOTTA SHOW ME WHEN HE DOES D:

Anyway, I love the elegant simplicity to both this piece and its female counterpart. And you know me and my foot fetish, I love how you did his footies. Also, goddamn, I love this character's tats.

Tatstatstats.

Speaking of tats, did you ever finish the sisters one you were working on? Also, I've been slacking on the design for grumpy-pants. I'm a bad person D:
