Gopoh Turnaround by LassieCrumby Gopoh Turnaround by LassieCrumby
Ah my beloved Gopoh. She's been my go-to OC for yearrsssss. I'm pretty sure I was only 16 or 17 when I made her (I'm 25.)
I think it's very interesting to note that when I first created her, she wasn't meant to be the main character of my story. She was completely emotionally blank... I loved drawing her, but I just couldn't figure out a personality that would stick. Originally, she was one of those really annoying "child in an adult's body" kind of characters...
I like to think that I've matured a lot since then (lol oh to be 17 again tho.) So, even though I'm using her same name and design asthetic, her actual character has been completely revamped... as has the story. I really want to start working on concepts for it (it has no title yet.)

So, new Gopoh:
-She hails from a secluded village deep in the forest, in the steep crater of a meteorite impact from long ago. The natural walls around the village protect the citizens from the dangers of the lands around them. (The village is inspired by traditional Aboriginal Canadian people, as well as Ainu and Inuit.) Since the surrounding forests are so dangerous, the villagers rarely venture out to hunt, and have instead specialized in cultivating hardy crops, living on a mainly vegetarian diet. The people have a very great understanding of plants and natural medicines, allowing them to live to very old ages (The average elder passes away at around 100-120 years old.)
-Gopoh herself is an apprentice to the shaman elder, learning the ways of the human spirit in relation to the world around them. She is exceptionally skilled, being only a few short years away from mastering the art at a very young age.
-Because she has so much experience meditating to feel the spirits and souls of those around her, Gopoh has a unique empathy for the living world.
Along with her spiritual training, Gopoh has an extensive knowledge of medicine, and-as a result- poison. Her teacher has taught her that "All poison is simply medicine in the wrong dose."
-She was raised in the village, but not born there. Her strange origins may explain her abilities.
-She is the one who realizes there is a great disturbance in the spirit of the human race, and must set out to find the source, and hopefully the cure.

I have other characters related to this story. I want it to be a visually appealing fantasy, but I do have an ultimate purpose to explore. My first task is finding an appropriate title.

Very interesting concept and art. Sounds like you have invested a lot of imagination into this character.

Awww, well thank you ^^
Yeah, she originally was way more froggie looking... She had solid black eyes, no eyebrows, webbed fingers, shiny froggie skin etc.
Now she looks completely human, but I still do have ideas for her that involve frog spirits. :3 I'm much more happy with this new version of her and the story, and I've been putting it on the back burner for way too long, so I'm excited to try and draw it out/write it down and really explore.
