Wow, that's really interesting! So, is this done with different layers? Sorry, I don't understand one iota about how layers work ... :\

yessssss. Layers are VERY important. You ever use photoshop? Basically it's one layer for the human face, one layer for the asari, and then you just play until they look like one face lol.
If you ever wanted, for like $10.00 or something I could make one for you hahah.

I bet. :)

Well no, I use an ancient version of Photoshop Elements but I bet it has the same functions in terms of layers. I just can't figure out how to use them, bah ... stupid me.

Oh .. I see. That's interesting.

Thanks. :) Unfortunately I can't pay you, No PayPay or anything (which is why I can't upgrade to Premium membership either .. sob) Bu tthanks a lot. :)

Oh gawed. My earlier comment? ignore it. XD. Shows how much I pay attention, I thought you were commenting on a completely different pic. OKAY. BACK TO SQUARE ONE.

LAYERS? Not really. I rarely had more than 1 layer going on in this pic. I pretty much just made a scribbly mess and then wittled it down with really high opacity brushes until it started to take shape.

(I thought you were commenting on my asari pic for some reason...the photomanip...where layers are extremely important to get the right effect. XD. DERRRP I feel dumb now)

Oh right, ha ha. :) No problem in the world, your art is amazing so I figured you made good use of your Photoshop in any case.

Ah, I see. The end result was amazing though and it was really a blast seeing you work your way towards it.

Don't worry about it, it's easy enough to make mistakes like that, espescially when you're being swamped with comments and questions as I'm sure you are. :) Thanks again for explaining!

Looking at this is very interesting! It's the same process I use for my paintings. c:
One thing I'd like say: I think the pose and anatomy in the first stage is much more interesting than the latter.
But over all its a very well done character.
